General Job Description

A gifted prayer warrior who is committed to praying for and with both staff and members of the community, organizing Scriptural worship services for Never-Ending Grace Corporation, participating in community events, interacting with the community. The Community Chaplain provides pastoral/spiritual care for staff and the community at large. The Chaplain will have the responsibility of ensuring that religious and spiritual needs of staff are met, that all related worship services meet Scriptural instruction, and will serve as the first contact to groups, organizations, and the community.  


Education
Strong background in leading prayer is most fundamental to this position.  A degree in management, teaching, or counseling is helpful.  Pastoral certification highly desirable. 3-5 years’ experience working with adults and/or community services/ministries is desired.  Experienced in leading worship. Familiarity with the community is desired.  Non-profit experience is a plus.  Experience with volunteers preferred.  IFOC Chaplaincy certification must be completed within 6 months of being hired.  Strong references are desirable and will be verified and considered.


Responsibilities and Duties

The Community Chaplain must agree with Never-Ending Grace Corporation’s Purpose, Mission, and Statement of Faith, and adhere to the goals and philosophies of the corporation.


The Community Chaplain functions as an integral member of the Executive Team.


The Community Chaplain will:

  • Actively coordinates appropriate prayer and spiritual care to the staff and their loved ones.

  • Actively participates in the planning and executing of a variety of worship, prayer and praise services and meetings both within Never-Ending Grace Corporation and to the community.  

  • Assist in the training of worship participants assuring Scriptural compliance and moves of the Holy Spirit in the services and meetings.

  • Assists in the coordination of ministry and church visitors from the community.

  • Contribute to the community through materials and resources relevant for spiritual care and Christian growth, continuously researching and authoring relevant materials.  

  • Create and evaluate potential programming that lifts up, encourages, and/or explains the importance of prayer in our daily lives.

  • Evaluate all prayer staff and volunteers.

  • Lead the Jesus is the Rock Chaplain Services, responding to requests for pastoral/spiritual care in a timely manner to the community.

  • Never take the focus off an emphasis on prayer throughout Never-Ending Grace Corporation and all who are affiliated with it.

  • Oversee the creation of the Silas Patrol of Prayer Warriors who will travel throughout all

  • Never-Ending Grace Corporation facilities praying for and with groups, individuals, and the facilities themselves.   

  • Oversee the solicitation of volunteer Prayer Warrior Coordinators, Prayer Warrior Leaders, and Prayer Warriors along with their training and scheduling.

  • Participate in delivering communion and baptism needs as requested.

  • Participate in regular professional development activities and supervision.

  • Participate in teaching as needed.

  • Participates in planning for continuous quality improvement.

  • Prepare and follow a budget for the prayer opportunities and community outreach of Never-Ending Grace Corporation, recommending equipment, material purchases, staff, and staffing promotions.  

  • Supervise the creation of Engannim Nooks throughout Never-Ending Grace Corporation facilities along with prayer request & praise report slips for use everywhere.

  • Will create Philemon's Yokefellows to specifically reach out to, pray for, and encourage staff and the Board of Directors.

  • Will ensure that at least one Prayer Warrior is in attendance at or praying during all meetings and events that are part of Never-Ending Grace Corporation.

  • Will oversee the creation, development, and implementation of the Prayer Fortress with a Prayer Secretary coordinating a variety of prayer chains and the Epaphras Closet with 24/7 intercessory prayer.

Desirable Qualities

A child of God with boundless energy and compassion are needed.  The Community Chaplain must meet the qualifications Scripturally of a Deacon/Elder.  It is desirable to have the Community Chaplain gifted and certified/ordained as a Pastor.  Additionally, the Community Chaplain should be or have:

  • A person who loves to turn to God in prayer first and foremost.

  • Able to discern people's Spiritual Gifts and God-given talents.  

  • Compassion with the ability to not enable people’s weaknesses.

  • Excellent organizational skills  

  • Experience in customer service-related work is very useful.

  • Experience in leading Scriptural worship and praise.

  • Good management skills and leadership skills

  • Knowledge of worship music and the basic principles of music.

  • Possess a high degree of spiritual sensitivity, emotional energy, and mental alertness.

  • The ability to handle stress associated with ministering to people who are experiencing anxiety, grief, loss, pain, stress, and suffering.

  • The ability to speak comfortably with groups of any size.

Overview

The Community Chaplain is given the authority to create and oversee a fully functioning prayer ministry to serve Never-Ending Grace Corporation, its staff, volunteers, and all whom come to its facilities.  Never-Ending Grace Corporation will only succeed when it moves forward on its knees. The Community Chaplain is an individual committed to the ways of God; compassionate about prayer; and is committed to teaching, leading, and participating in Spirit-filled Scriptural praise and worship services throughout the community.

Compensation
The Community Chaplain’s salary, based on industry standards as well as previous experience, will have a starting range between $60,000 and $75,000 per year.  The Community Chaplain will also receive the Never-Ending Grace Corporation benefits package (see attached).
