and Sports Medicine

General Job Description

The Director is tasked with overseeing the Gennesaret Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine Center and the services it offers, creating strategic goals and acting as a liaison between other medical departments at the Gennesaret Medical Center. The Director also oversees the day-to-day operations and seeing as well as evaluating patients as necessary. The Director is expected to implement sound and effective financial strategies, anticipate financial requirements, and analyze monthly financial reports.  


Education
The Director of Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine is required to have a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy (preferred), biology, business, or other related fields. A master’s degrees and a Physical Therapy Specialties Certificate is a plus.  The Director should have a current physical therapist license from the state’s physical therapy board. A combination of multiple years’ experience as a physical therapist, with some years in a supervisory role, and education is required.  Proven financial planning and financial management skills are desirable as is knowledge of legal, medical and accreditation compliance in the state.


Responsibilities and Duties

The Director of Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine must agree with Never-Ending Grace Corporation’s Purpose, Mission, and Statement of Faith, and adhere to the goals and philosophies of the corporation.

The Director of Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine will be expected to:

  • Ensure Gennesaret Medical Center and Never-Ending Grace Corporation values are enforced and properly communicated to everyone in the physical therapy and sports medicine center.

  • Offer analysis, information, and suggestions with the end goal of developing physical therapy and sports medicine operational policies; determine productivity, production, quality, and patient-services procedures. This will include directing research applicable to therapy services.

  • Study patient care policies and measure final outcomes to determine areas of improvement.

  • Study trends and variances in the physical therapy and sports medicine industry and ensure that the financial resources of the Gennesaret Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine Center are properly aligned.

  • Propose and manage the budget using operational resources within Gennesaret Medical Center and Never-Ending Grace Corporation.

  • Oversee the hiring, training, and development of physical therapy and sports medicine staff members. This includes directing, assessing, and supervising support personnel. Oversee subordinate supervisors on issues such as hiring, promotions, and departmental moves, and conduct performance evaluations.

  • Ensure accreditation, legal and medical compliance and remain updated on regulations at the local, state, and federal levels.

  • Engage in continuing education and training opportunities whenever they become available.

  • Offer technical direction with evaluation and proper treatment of patients so as to maintain excellent standards of physical therapy.

  • Set priorities, delegate tasks, and solve problems within the Gennesaret Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine Center.

  • Direct and maintain records and reports that comply with all applicable laws, including HIPAA, safety requirements, etc.

  • Establish policies and practices to coordinate physical therapy with other disciplines at the Gennesaret Medical Center, including occupational therapy, speech pathology, audiology, and other health services as needed.

  • Make the final decisions to resolve problems within the department, including employee utilization, grievances, and disciplinary actions.

  • Instruct patients and demonstrate procedures for at-home care and treatment.

  • Administer massage, manual exercises, or traction to help restore functionality, relieve pain, or increase strength to damaged tissue

  • Refer clients to community services or resources as needed.

  • Ability to direct a team of physical therapists while managing the demands of providing patient care.

  • Compassionate, excellent at physical therapy duties and working with patients.

  • Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to delegate administrative and care-related tasks as required.

  • Skilled at financial planning, budgeting, and staff management so as to manage Gennesaret Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine Center’s budget.

  • Able to lift 50lbs with some bending and squatting to assist patients.

Overview

The Director of Gennesaret Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine Center works to ensure that patients receive the best care possible. The Director must work closely with other medical professionals to identify recurring health trends and determine new equipment or treatment methods to include at the Center. It is the Directors role to maintain business relationships with medical suppliers and vendors to coordinate supply shipments as needed. The Director is responsible for anticipating the needs for and hiring of additional therapists and other physical therapy and sports medicine staff to accommodate changes in employment needs.

Compensation
The Director of Gennesaret Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine Center’s salary, based on industry standards as well as previous experience, will have a starting range between $75,000 - $90,000 per year.  The Director will also receive the Never-Ending Grace Corporation benefits package (see attached).
