Information Technology Support Specialist

General Job Description

The Information Technology Support Specialist is the primary point of contact for staff both onsite and remote.  The position is responsible for training all staff and related volunteers in the technology operation of laptops, workstations, hand-held devices, servers, printers, and Never-Ending Grace Corporation’s specific hardware and software.  The Specialist will document the details of the course of action to be taken to investigate any reported problems, forwarding it to the proper channels.  When not handling calls, or training, the Specialist will supervise data entry into the system, and develop programs to support the various Tribes.  

A degree in Information Science or the equivalent is desired.  One or more of the following industry certifications is highly desired:  Help Desk Institute (HDI), CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security++, MCSA: Windows 11, MCSE: Desktop Infrastructure, MCDST: Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician, ITIL Foundation.

Responsibilities and Duties

The Information Technology Support Specialist must agree with Never-Ending Grace Corporation’s Purpose, Mission, and Statement of Faith, and adhere to the goals and philosophies of the corporation.

The IT Support Specialist will:

  • Answer and manage all IT support issues from the staff and volunteers, assisting with personal settings and printer configurations

  • Analyze and troubleshoot problems reported by the staff and volunteers

  • Install, configure, and support laptop hardware, laptop computers, handheld devices, printers, monitors, portable data storage devices, installation and configuration of software instituted by our support company,

  • Maintain the integrity of the network, server deployment, and configure IT devices for secure operation, including installation of software, software updates, and other configurations as directed by our support company.

  • Connect and configures IT devices to use our computer networks

  • Supports laptop and desktop maintenance, including inventory and software distribution.

  • Support security maintenance, including anti-virus software updates and patch management as well as supporting disaster recovery and adaptation to documented recovery situations.

  • Relocate all IT equipment as needed; track and update the movement of all IT assets (laptops, desktops, printers, etc.) within the stipulated database and within time constraints.

  • Train and supervise Data Entry staff

  • Assist staff and volunteers with cell phone activation and upgrades

  • Assist staff and volunteers with all technology related issues.

  • Provides virtual assistance sessions using privileged access management software.

  • Create and implement specific Tribe related projects

  • Observe and maintain system efficiency; participates in issue troubleshooting with the objective of root cause identification.

  • Make recommendations for upgrades or changes to the system

  • Have excellent written/verbal communication and organizational skills.

  • Have basic knowledge of PC Hardware, Routing & Switching, VoIP Phones.

  • Be a team player, detail-orientated, and flexible.

  • Be a self-starter and able to work with limited supervision.

The Information Technology Support Specialist’s position involves overseeing the training and use of all Information Technology devices used by Never-Ending Grace Corporation.  Being detail oriented while being dependable, and with a strong desire to take on challenges is a large part of this position.  The ability to shift focus quickly is essential.  Maintaining a professional, Christian attitude is the key to succeeding in the position.

The Information Technology Support Specialist’s salary based on industry standards as well as previous experience will have a starting range between $52,00 and $68,000 per year.  The Information Technology Support Specialist will also receive the Never-Ending Grace Corporation benefits package (see attached).
