To achieve this, the following is expected of the Kingdom Diplomats Pastor:
Relationship with the Father
-
Maintains a regular program of study. Scripture shows us over and over that Jesus placed the highest priority of His life on spending time alone with the Father. His life reveals an intense passion for the presence of God. His heart longed and hungered to touch the heart of God. [Note Luke 6:12; Matthew 14:23; Mark 1:35]. Jesus was about doing the will of the Father…the Pastor does likewise.
Sets as a guideline of personal behavior the standard required in I Timothy 3:1-7 and I Peter 5:1-4. -
Lives a life of prayer. Jesus actually was in touch with His heavenly Father all the time. The Pastor surrenders all personal plans to Him, to be carried out or given up as His providence shall indicate. [Matthew 21:13].
-
This Kingdom Diplomats is about leading people to the throne of grace to experience the presence of God and receive power from Him. Too many programs and ideas have turned the churches into a human institution rather than the living body of Christ. The Pastor’s goal is to lead the Kingdom Diplomats staff, Partners, and visitors to be a sanctuary of prayer, grace, and the dwelling of the presence of God.
-
Jesus’ hunger for the presence of God should be the motivation and inspiration of the Pastor - to be more and more like Him.

Preach and Teach the Gospel
-
Monitors the spiritual pulse of the Kingdom Diplomats body through periodic review and accountability, advising the Shepherd Pastor of the findings and direction as a result.
-
Works with the Kingdom Diplomats Pastor to lead the Kingdom Diplomats in effective programs to fulfill the Great Commission with vision, purpose, and priority.
-
Works with the Shepherd Pastor and Worship Team to plan and conduct worship services, oversee music leadership, observe historical church liturgical seasons and follow Scriptural instruction regarding worship, praise, and observation of the celebration of the sacrament of communion.
-
Will meet with the Kingdom Diplomats Family Chaplain to be sure that in planning and executing training for children, youth, college-age and adult education and programs [Luke 4:18; Matthew 9:35], guidance is being given through the Word pointing people to read the Bible and learn about God’s Will and ability to transform their lives [Luke 2:46-50; Phil 2:16; 1 Cor 15:1,2; 1 Peter 2:2; John 17:7; Psalms 119:98].
-
Is careful not to be sure the Kingdom Diplomats is not reducing Scripture to mere information; the Kingdom Diplomats needs spiritual renewal more than knowledge. Paul reminds us that the Scriptures give us a new life in Jesus; noting Paul’s commands to Timothy [1 Tim 4:13; 2 Tim 3:16]. Jesus had power and authority because he always preached the Word, not sociology, politics, or psychology.
-
Is responsible to see that the pulpit is filled for all worship services. This is not to always be the Shepherd Pastor, the Kingdom Diplomats Pastor, or the Kingdom Diplomats Family Chaplain. The Pastor is encouraged to fill the pulpit with varied qualified teachers and preachers as he feels led.
-
Leads and demonstrates effective ways to witness and win the lost to salvation through Jesus Christ.
-
Gives full support to and complies with the Kingdom Diplomats budget.
Meet the Needs of the People
-
Maintains proper priorities at home with spouse and children.
-
Conducts bereavement counseling sessions and conducts funeral services as needed.
-
Conducts family, vocational, counseling sessions, etc. as needed, deferring to other approved professional help when possible.
-
Conducts premarital counseling sessions, performs wedding ceremonies when needed.
-
Models Jesus love for people, particularly the lost [Matthew 9:36] and His urging to “Follow Me.”
-
Oversee the pastoral care needs of the Kingdom Diplomats staff and family with hospital visits, nursing care facility visits, and home visits, using skills in administrative leadership for engaging and meeting the needs of individuals and families.
-
Conducts any Kingdom Diplomats discipline matters and the management of conflict issues in the Kingdom Diplomats. The Shepherd Pastor serves as a back-up to the Pastor for these matters.
-
Oversees Kingdom Diplomats plans for periods of evangelistic emphasis for the unsaved and renewal for Christians and promotion of these periods.
-
Regularly visits with Kingdom Diplomats staff, as well as Partners and visitors.
-
Spends time meeting and mingling with people who attend services or programs, genuinely showing interest and compassion, in order to build relationships.

Making Disciples
-
Mentors staff and Kingdom Diplomats family regarding their Spiritual Gifts and how they relate to the work of the Diplomats.
-
The role of the Pastor and staff at the Kingdom Diplomats is to pray for the harvest and especially the harvesters. God’s role is to send people to the Kingdom Diplomats who will be the harvesters. The Pastor’s role is to know the flock, identify their Spiritual Gift(s), lead them and mentor them, and direct additional Kingdom Diplomats staff and leaders in the harvesting through the harvesters God has sent.
-
Understands that without workers, there is no Kingdom Diplomats. Jesus basically says that we have a math problem. We need more workers, more disciples, to gather the harvest. The need to build disciples is so fundamental that Jesus spent three and a half years in full-time discipleship formation. In fact, had Jesus not built His disciples, there would not be a church today. [Luke 10:2] The Pastor knows and understands this, thus encouraging and emphasizing this teaching to the Kingdom Diplomats staff and family.

Service and Sacrifice
-
There are two important truths about Christ. First, He was a Servant Leader. Any study of Christian leadership is incomplete unless we study the servant sacrificial life of Christ. [Note Mark 13:45; Luke 22:27] The King of the whole universe was not into self-glorification, self-satisfaction, power, or control. He was into service and ministry.
-
The second truth about Jesus is that He gave His life as a living sacrifice; to redeem us, Jesus lived and suffered and died. In the agony of Gethsemane, the death at Calvary, God paid the price of our redemption. In fact, the price paid for our redemption, the infinite price paid by God the Father in sending His Son to die on our behalf, should give us an idea of just how valuable we are to God. Jesus declared, “The Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost” [Luke 19:10] Lost people matter to God. Therefore, to be a genuine pastor and disciple of Jesus Christ, lost people will matter to the Pastor, who is to instill this value in the heart of the Kingdom Diplomats staff and family.
-
The call through the Spiritual Gift to be a Pastor is a high calling and manifests itself in the understanding that this life is one of sacrificial giving; of time, of resources, and of life itself. It is vital that the Kingdom Diplomats Pastor and his/her family know that pastoral ministry is not about them, but about Him, and are totally and uniquely committed to serving Him.
Desirable Qualities
A child of God with boundless energy and compassion is needed. The Kingdom Diplomats Pastor must meet the qualifications Scripturally of a Deacon/Elder. Additionally, the Kingdom Diplomats Pastor should:
-
Be a person who loves to turn to God in prayer first and foremost, understanding that prayer comes first.
-
Be able to discern people's Spiritual Gifts and God-given talents.

-

-
Frequently ask; “What did Jesus do?” “What would Jesus do?” “What does Jesus want me to do?”
-
Prefer to allow others to shine, applauding them from the sidelines, staying off all pedestals, preferring to be seen as another fault-filled, work-in-progress, trying to serve his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
-
Use the macro-management style; allowing for mistakes, growth, and strengthening of ideas by allowing those put in charge to be in charge.
