Program Development Coordinator

General Job Description

The Program Development Coordinator facilitates, promotes, and negotiates planning and development of projects and programs to grow and follow the plans for Never-Ending Grace Corporation. This position creates, plans, and monitors empowerment programs necessary to secure and examine opportunities for growth. The Program Development Coordinator works at the community level with public and private organizations as well as the community at large and ensures that there is reach out to the public as often as possible. The Coordinator oversees the various programs that are administered by Never-Ending Grace Corporation, managing all budget needs and human resources aspects.  


Education

We desire a Program Development Coordinator who possesses a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in social sciences, business administration, planning or communication. A bachelor’s degree in community planning, public administration or economics can also be an asset.  Related job experience is given high consideration. A minimum of three years of experience managing a program of similar size and demographics is strongly desired.


Responsibilities and Duties

The Program Development Coordinator must agree with Never-Ending Grace Corporation’s Statements of Mission, Purpose, and Faith, and adhere to the goals and philosophies of the organization.


The Program Development Coordinator facilitates planning initiatives through identifying and creating opportunities for growth and development. The Coordinator will set up and provide support to a team of staff/volunteers. The Coordinator also conducts research and offers recommendations about opportunities for growth and development within the community. The Coordinator identifies areas that need transfer of power and responsibilities as well as empowerment programs into practice. Identifying, securing, and coordinating resources necessary to the programs will be necessary, as well as making recommendations on potential funding opportunities the Coordinator becomes aware of.


The Program Development Coordinator develops and implements all guidelines and policies with the purpose of ensuring compliance and alignment with Never-Ending Grace Corporations mission as well as any applicable government regulations. The Coordinator monitors the effectiveness of each program, adjusting as needed. Recruitment, training, and monitoring of key program leaders also falls under the Program Development Coordinator’s responsibilities.

 

Because the Program Development Coordinator’s role and those of the program staff/volunteers is contingent upon a fully funded budget, the Coordinator works in tandem with Never-Ending Grace Corporation’s financial team and grant writers to help be aware of and secure funds, donations and grants that may be applicable to each program.


Additionally, the Program Development Coordinator serves as the face of Never-Ending Grace Corporation’s programs to the external community. As such, the position involves attending appropriate community events or sending Never-Ending Grace Corporation representatives as part of an effort to build and maintain positive relationships within the community.

 

Desirable Qualities

The Program Development Coordinator must have good listening and communication skills because the job calls for frequent interaction with people. Consequently, the Coordinator must have good interpersonal skills as well as the capacity to work in a multicultural setting with a variety of demographics. The Coordinator must be well organized and adept at performing many tasks at once. The Coordinator must be creative and flexible to accommodate diverse community initiatives. Previous work experience in the community is desirable. The Program Development Coordinator also shows proficiency in computer application skills because the position requires the use of computerized word processing programs to create various documents.


The Coordinator must be meticulous in all notes and documentation necessitated by grant and funding compliance. It is extremely important that the Program Development Coordinator maintains a passion for what Never-Ending Grace Corporation is doing. Many of Never-Ending Grace Corporation’s programs are geared toward the underserved. The Program Development Coordinator will be required to interact with people in crisis and unpleasant environments and situations. This may take a toll on the Coordinator’s psyche.

Overview

The Program Development Coordinator’s job involves frequent interaction with groups and individuals within the community. Graduates or those with experience in community planning, public administration and business administration have greater employment opportunities. This position can be difficult for some people. Long hours, unpleasant situations and difficulty finding staff and volunteers can prove to be challenging. However, the reward of seeing God's plan succeed makes the job extremely rewarding.

Compensation
The Program Development Cordinator’s salary based on industry standards as well as previous experience will have a starting range between $65,000 and $80,000 per year.  The Program Development Director will also receive the Never-Ending Grace Corporation benefits package (see attached).
