Retail Manager – Camel’s Caravan Marketplace

General Job Description

The Retail Manager for Camel’s Caravan Marketplace will be the one to ensure smooth running of operation to maximize sales and minimize costs.  The ideal candidate will have experience as a store manager and knowledge of diverse business subjects such as sales, marketing etc. An effective retail manager will also be able to motivate participating merchants to perform according to their maximum capacity. The goal is to manage the Marketplace in ways that boost revenues and develops the business.  

The Retail Manager position requires a high school diploma or equivalent.  A BA in business administration, sales, or relevant filed is preferred.  5 -10 years in related positions is also preferred.  An MSc/MA is a bonus.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • The Retail Manager must agree with Never-Ending Grace Corporation’s Purpose, Mission, and Statement of Faith, and adhere to the goals and philosophies of the corporation.

  • Oversees building and grounds maintenance and custodial functions, ensuring that the facility is clean and maintained according to policy and procedures.

  • Organizes all store operations and allocates responsibilities to personnel.

  • Supervises and guides staff and merchants towards maximum performance.

  • Ensures security and emergency preparedness procedures are implemented properly, communicating workplace safety precautions to all staff and merchants.

  • Manages and reviews any service contracts with the Central Services Purchasing Director.

  • Forecasts, allocates, and recommends financial and physical resources for facility management.

  • Prepares and controls the Marketplace budget aiming for minimum expenditure and efficiency.

  • Monitor any stock levels and purchases and ensure they stay within the budget.

  • Deals with complaints from customers to maintain the Marketplace’s reputation.

  • Inspect the building and merchant spaces and resolve any issues that might arise.

  • Plan and oversee in-store promotional events.

  • Work with staff and merchants on maintaining a high level of quality displays to match the theme of the Marketplace.

  • Keep abreast of market trends to determine the need for improvements in the Marketplace.

  • Analyze sales and revenue reports and make forecasts.

  • Ensure the store fulfils all legal health and safety guidelines.

The Retail Manager for Camel’s Caravan Marketplace will make sure that the unique setting of the marketplace is maintained.  The Manager will work to be constantly providing new and innovative ideas to always be improving on the quality of the service and ambiance of this unique setting.  The Manager will carefully screen and work with merchants, always looking for unique products and services that will be provided within the marketplace.

The Retail Manager's salary based on industry standards as well as previous experience will have a starting range between $55,000 and $65,000 per year.  The Retail Manager will also receive the Never-Ending Grace Corporation benefits package (see attached).
